Word 2016: WordArt, Old Style

Objectives:

·       Learn how to insert the older (pre-2010) style of WordArt in a Word document.

Here is what the new WordArt options look like:

And here is what the old WordArt options looked like:

They are quite different! If you want the old-style WordArt, you can still do it, but you must save your document in the Word 97-2003 format.

Then, when you want to use old-style WordArt, the process is exactly the same as installing the new WordArt. Do the following:

·       Click on the Insert tab.

·       In the Text group, click on the WordArt button.

·       Click on the WordArt style of your choice.

After inserting the WordArt, whenever you click on the WordArt, Drawing Tools will appear on the title bar of your document, with a Format ribbon below that has options for formatting your WordArt:

This has some similarities to the newer WordArt ribbon, but they are quite different:
